Adaptive Training initially treated most conditioning work as one general category.
That proved insufficient.
High-intensity circuits can develop tremendous work capacity while still leaving steady aerobic development undertrained.
Adaptive Training therefore separated Aerobic Base from general conditioning.
Aerobic work is now evaluated by effort.
A sustainable steady effort serves a different purpose from either very easy movement or very hard conditioning.
The methodology therefore recognizes Aerobic Base as a distinct training quality that must be deliberately developed rather than assumed to occur automatically.
